Beta Access is an overlay on Free, Pro, or Team. It does not replace the base plan; it adds the experimental Managed Research surface on top of the plan’s included usage and run limits. The June launch promo plan is free_launch: $500 of Managed Research usage, up to 2 concurrent active runs, and no self-serve scheduled projects. If you need recurring or scheduled work, contact Synth so we can scope it against your plan, Beta Access state, and resource limits.

directed_effort and lite are available across authenticated Managed Research tiers. Pro and Team add the paid GA model bundle and higher included usage; Beta Access adds the deeper experimental modes and models.

Programmatic access

Use smr_get_billing_entitlements to check whether the organization has the Beta Access assets:
  • smr_open_ended_discovery
  • smr_heavy_preset
  • smr_all_models
Run-start preflight remains authoritative. If a requested preset, work mode, or model requires Beta Access, preflight returns a structured capability denial.
